Turn a document into audio
Every other document-to-speech service wants the file on its servers and charges by the character. This one downloads a voice once and then runs it on your own machine, so a contract you would not email to a stranger is a contract you can still listen to on the way to work. It reads PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, decks, saved emails, Markdown and plain text. Every file is opened, changed and saved by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, nothing is stored, and no account is needed.
- The whole document read out, word for word, in the order it was written
- Or a short summary read instead, for something long you only need the shape of
- Or a plain-language explanation, with the jargon unpacked as it goes
- An English voice, downloaded once, 109 MB, and then yours offline
- Save as WAV, or as MP3 at three sizes, with what each one costs spelled out before you pick
- Every figure is spelled out before it is spoken, so an amount is read as an amount and not as loose digits
