Edit the text in a PDF
This reaches into the page's own content streams and changes the one operand that draws the words, leaving every other byte of the file as it was. The line you retype keeps the font it was set in, and the replacement is padded to the exact width of what it replaced, so the rest of the line does not shift by a thousandth of a point. Every file is opened, changed and saved by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, nothing is stored, and no account is needed.
- Click text on the page and type over it
- Keeps the original font, size, colour and position
- Nothing else on the line or the page moves
- Says plainly when an embedded font has no glyph for what you typed
