A pile of documents, one spreadsheet
Forty receipts is an afternoon of typing, and every service that offers to do it for you wants the documents on its servers, which is an awkward arrangement for paperwork carrying bank details and home addresses. This reads them in this tab: pick the shape, add a column of your own if you need one, and get a row for each document. It takes PDFs, photographs of receipts, Word files, spreadsheets, decks, saved emails and plain text. Every file is opened, changed and saved by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, nothing is stored, and no account is needed.
- Six shapes ready to use: receipt, invoice, bank line, payslip, purchase order and delivery note
- The columns are shown before the run, not discovered afterwards
- Add one column of your own, filled by the same rules as the rest
- A field the document did not state is marked as not stated. It is never left blank and never filled in with something plausible, because a guessed figure in a column that gets summed is indistinguishable from a real one
- A document nothing could read gets a row with its name on it rather than being quietly dropped
- A Coverage sheet says how many came out whole and which column each of the others left out
- Photographs are read by the recogniser and say so, since a figure read off ink is worth checking in a way a text layer is not
- Up to fifty documents in one run, and the model downloads once
