Number a site drawing set for issue

A drawing set is issued as a set and referred to afterwards by number. This numbers every sheet straight through in one pass and writes down which drawing holds which range.

Numbering one file at a time is how numbers collide

A set issued in parts, numbered part by part with the counters carried over by hand, is a set where two sheets eventually share a number. On a drawing set that is not untidy, it is a site instruction that points at two different drawings, and there is no recovering from it except reissuing the whole set.

So the entire set goes in at once and the counter runs straight through it in the order you arrange the files. A label that outgrows its padding keeps counting rather than wrapping: running from four digits into five is untidy and two sheets sharing the last available number is not recoverable.

What a fresh drawing context would destroy

Most stamping tools push every page through a new drawing context, which produces a numbered file and silently loses the bookmarks, the internal links, the annotations and any form fields. On a drawing set that means the cross-references between sheets stop working the moment the set is numbered.

Here the number is drawn onto the existing page in place, so everything else survives. Sheets that already carry text where the stamp will land are listed before anything runs, because a number printed over a title block revision is a number somebody will misread on site.

The CSV index records which drawing covers which range. That mapping cannot be reconstructed afterwards without opening the whole set again, and it is exactly what a transmittal needs. Everything runs on this device, so an unissued set stays unissued and nothing about it is kept once the tab is closed.

Can I set a prefix per package?

Yes, along with the start number, the padding, the corner and the type size.

Does it work on large-format sheets?

Yes. The stamp is placed relative to the page, so A1 and A4 are both handled.
