Merge onboarding documents into one pack

A new joiner gets eight files in three emails and reads none of them. One pack, in order, stamped as the current version, is the difference between sent and read.

One pack, in a deliberate order

The order is the argument. Offer first, because that is what the person opened the email for; then the terms that qualify it; then the policies; then the forms they have to send back. Eight separate attachments have no order at all, and the one that gets opened is whichever the mail client listed first.

Merging keeps the bookmarks each document brought with it, so the finished pack has a sidebar somebody can navigate rather than ninety undifferentiated pages. Page order is exactly the order you arranged the files in, not alphabetical by file name.

Stamping before, not after

A watermark says which version this is, and the reason to apply it in the same run is that a pack circulated without one is indistinguishable from last year's pack six months later. Onboarding documents are copied, forwarded and printed more than almost anything else a company produces.

If the plan also compresses, the stamp is moved in front of the compression and the reason is printed against the step: a mark added afterwards re-inflates most of what the compression saved. That is the kind of reordering the plan exists to make visible rather than to do quietly.

Everything runs here. An offer letter carries a name and a salary, and it is the document most often dropped into whichever free merger appears first in a search. Nothing here is uploaded, and nothing about the pack survives the tab being closed. A free merger is the usual answer to this job and the wrong one.

Can I change the watermark text?

Yes. The tool takes the wording and the style before it stamps.

Does the pack stay searchable?

Yes, as long as the parts were. Merging does not redraw the pages.
