Summarise an annual report

The report, the notes and the annexures arrive as separate files and are one document in practice. This joins them and summarises what the combined thing actually says.

• Merged first, so the summary is of the whole report and not of part one.
• The model runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
• A hostile line planted in the document is flagged above the summary.

Merging first is not a convenience

Summarise three files separately and you get three summaries, each confident about a document that was never meant to stand alone. The notes explain the figures, and a summary of the figures without the notes is exactly the summary somebody quotes in a meeting and regrets.

So the plan merges before it summarises, and it shows you that it is going to. The order is the reason the instruction is a sentence rather than a button: you can read what it intends to do, and change it, before anything runs.

What a summary of a report can and cannot do

It orients. What the period was, what the business says happened, which sections carry the numbers and where the commentary sits. It does not do arithmetic and does not check one figure against another, and it says so rather than producing a total that reads like one somebody verified.

Long documents are read in windows and every window is kept. First window wins is a reasonable rule for a voice note and a bad one for a report: the middle of the document is where the segment results live, and dropping it would summarise the opening and the outlook and silently skip everything between them.

Where a line in the document is written to give the model orders, it is flagged above the summary and in the head of the saved file. An annual report is not the likeliest place for that, but it is a document assembled from many hands and published as a PDF, which is the shape the problem takes.

How many files can I merge?

Enough for a report and its annexures. The limit is shown on the panel before the plan runs.

Does it need the AI model?

Yes, and it is downloaded once to your browser. The report itself is never sent anywhere.
