Translate an agreement into Hindi
A counterparty who works in Hindi needs the agreement in Hindi. This reads the document, including a scan, translates it on this device and saves it in a format that can actually show the script.
- The document is never uploaded, which matters for an unsigned draft.
- Reads a scanned copy first, so a signed counterpart works too.
- Says which output formats can carry Devanagari before you pick one.
A translated contract is a reading copy
This produces a translation to read and discuss, not an executable bilingual agreement. Which language governs is a term of the contract itself, and a machine translation is not a certified one. Where the deal turns on the wording, the translation is what you hand the person who then checks it.
The reason to do it here rather than in a browser tab pointed at a translation service is simple: an unsigned draft pasted into a web form is a draft that has left your control. Everything on this page happens inside the tab.
Not every output can show the script
A PDF's built-in typefaces cover Latin text and nothing else, so a perfectly good Hindi translation drawn into one comes out as rows of question marks. That is checked before the button is offered rather than discovered after saving, and where a PDF cannot carry the text the reason is printed next to it.
Word and plain text carry every script, so they are always available. Figures are the other thing to check: a number that came through recognition can lose a digit, and a translated document is not the place to find that out.
The translation runs on a model in your browser, which is slower than a service and is the reason nothing is uploaded. A long agreement takes a few minutes; the panel says how far through it is rather than showing a bar that could mean anything, and you can stop it at any point and keep whatever has already been translated.
Which languages are supported?
The instruction takes a language by name. Hindi is set here because it is the common case; edit the sentence for any other.
Is the layout preserved?
The text is translated and rewritten as prose. Complex page layout is not reproduced.
